Japanese Earthquake Fund

I know. Believe me I know. I should post to this blog more often but I just get caught up in all that is my businesses and life and it falls by the wayside. It is only now that I am home sick with a cold that I am taking the time to write. It's very important to write now because the people of Japan need us. There are a lot of fiber enthusiasts in Japan and they are suffering along with the greater population of the devastated cities. I often think I can handle anything, if I can just have my knitting or crochet and can knit through it. I am feeling like the women there are suffering on so many levels even the level of not having any knitting with them. Sounds silly, maybe too light hearted, but it is a part of what I would be thinking of. To that end, the folks at KFI, Knitting Fever Inc, have offered to match donations to  the earthquake victims up to $ 50, 000.00. Just mail a check or money order to:

Together we can knit ourselves back to wholeness. I am on a budget right now so it is especially rewarding to know that I can make a contribution and have it matched. When it is cold and snowy outside, and we have not had snow since 2008, all I want to do is eat carbs, watch TV and knit. So far, the power is still on but the winds are kicking up and the lights are blinking. All I need is the light to keep knitting. Enjoy your snowy day, if you are having one and work on those Christmas gifts!

At Diva we really love Silky Wool yarn and we are particularly excited about one of the newest colors, a deep jewel tone teal. I can see this yarn as a wonderful shrug or vest. Very nice for fall!

Fall Colors

The weather is getting cooler, storms are rolling in and I want to sit all snug and warm and begin knitting projects. The color in the trees all around my neighborhood, the rich rusts, oranges, golds and reds makes me want to knit to match the trees. Welcome fall! I thank you for inspiring my knitting!

yarn colors. This is my favorite time of year with extreme colors, all the colors of changing leaves, golds, rusts, orange and brown. Time to plan my fall knitting projects.
