Around May

It is a gorgeously sunny and warm afternoon with the temperature hovering around 70. As soon as I finish this new post, I am heading out to my blue porch rocker and knitting away on my next baby washcloth. I have been obsessed with the Cascade Fixation yarn that is all cotton and a wee bit of elastic. First I made a baby hat for a shop sample, then I had leftover yarn so - baby wash cloths!

Left over yarn.
From this sweet baby hat.....
Is being made into baby wash cloths. So soft!

The best part of this short knitting adventure? Out of the blue, the yarn rep stopped in yesterday and low and behold, he had new colors of Fixation in his little carrying case and I ordered them all! They should be arriving early next week!

I am thinking now that we have a new downtown pedestrian plaza in Port Townsend; we can have knit nights out there and be beachside! Stay tuned for beach side, with an iced beverage, good company and yarn for a knitting the evening away until the street lights turn on!

Gallery Walk Demonstration

It is almost Saturday and that means Darlene will be arriving all the way from Port Angeles (!) to demonstrate the technique of punch needle embroidery. She will be in the shop form 4:30 to 7:30 during Port Townsend's monthly Gallery Walk and supplies will be available for purchase. I may even have some cookies in the shop for special treats! No previous experience needed to master this new skill, by the way!

Other upcoming events include Knitting Advice and Help with Theresa on May 10th and 24th. Free knitting consultant!! Yes, if you have always wanted to learn to knit, she will get you started at no cost except for your supplies. How wonderful is that!? She will be in shop on those days from 1:00 - 3:00.

We have also received in a new shipment of Knit Wits yarn in beautiful spring colors. I am going to sit in my bright blue gliding porch rocker and knit away an afternoon on a warm, spring afternoon. I think I will knit up some socks or a shawl or....

Lastly this evening, I leave you with the visage of cute rat, made by a customer who just happened to bring her little friend in for a visit!

Knit on Divas!!!
